A laboratory course on information display technologies for remote learning

Abstract Conducting remote laboratory‐based courses in electronics is a major challenge primarily because of the hardware requirements. This paper describes laboratory course on information display technologies specially designed and implemented for learning. The was successfully offered during COVID‐19 lockdown has an online instruction component to introduce concepts, as well part involving hands‐on work. covers experiments fundamental concepts related perception color, liquid crystal displays (LCD), light‐emitting diodes (LEDs), final project where mechanical built. Course assessment based anonymous survey shows work enhanced student learning improved understanding from average 2.5/5 measured at start 4/5 end.
